It has a plain aluminum border and a tray. It cost less than fancier boards in this size which can fetch up to five hundred dollars (twice the price I paid). It arrived by freight in a battered box, but managed to avoid any damage. It's comprised of a masonite backer board, a thin steel sheet with the porcelain finish and the aluminum border that holds the edges together. I haven't had it long enough to know whether the porcelain finish is as durable as I'll need it to be. The only complain I have is the flatness of the board is poor. I hung it by the pre-installed slotted holes in the back. I used two sturdy 50 pound wall anchors. The problem is the board does not lie flat against the wall, nor does it stay flat. No problems with 'ghosting' and the magnetic surface works great with magnetic 'push pins' or the common 'refrigerator' magnetic. Flatness has not been a problem...as a developer, I read the review from Ben and wish I could tell him that it's probably the wall that is crooked, not his board....common problem.
Update on 6 December....well, I'm still waiting for delivery. Ordered two more boards on the 21st, and have not yet received them. Further, the Amazon web site says that they were delivered....before I ordered them even!! And to an address in Tucson....I live in Las Vegas. Home Direct is supposed to be bringing them, so I sit on hold waiting for their customer service to pick up....still a great board, but think I'll go down to the local Biz Supply store and try to buy, even if it costs a bit more.
